# Onboarding

> Everything you need to get set up on the PLVR Business Portal: sign up, create your organization, complete your profile, add your team and get ready for your first event.

This guide takes you from nothing to an organization that is ready to host events. Anyone can create an account, so you can start right away.

**1. Sign up or log in**

Create your account, or sign back in.

**2. Create your organization**

Choose a name, a public page address and an optional logo.

**3. Complete your profile**

Tell attendees who you are.

**4. Add your team**

Give teammates the access they need.

**5. Create your first event**

Get your event set up with PLVR.

**6. Check everything before going live**

A short checklist.

## Sign up or log in

Open the portal. You land on **Welcome to PLVR Business** with the line "Register or sign in and we'll get started." There is no separate sign-up form: the first time you sign in, your account is created.

You can sign in in three ways:

* **Email.** Enter your email address and select **Continue** (on a phone, select **Continue with Email** first). The button stays disabled until the address looks valid. We send a 6-digit code to that address.
* **Apple.** Select the Apple button.
* **Google.** Select the Google button.

If you chose email, the next screen is **Enter your verification code**, showing the address it was sent to. Type the 6 digits; the code is checked as soon as you enter the last one. If it does not arrive, wait for the 60-second countdown to finish and select **Resend**. To use a different address, select the back arrow.

By signing in you accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which are linked at the bottom of the screen.

Once you are in, you see a short welcome ("Welcome home" on your first visit, "Welcome back" afterwards).

> [!TIP]
>
> Use the same sign-in method and the same email address each time. See [Common problems](#common-problems) if you cannot find your organization.

## Create your organization

An organization is the account your events are hosted under. If you do not belong to one yet, you go straight to **Create your organization** after signing in, with the message "You're not part of any organization yet. Create one to start hosting events."

You can also open this form at any time from the account menu by selecting **Create organization**, for example to set up a second organization. In that case the page reads "Set up another organization to host events under." and **Back to dashboard** at the top takes you back.

| Field | What to enter |
| - | - |
| **Organization name** | Required. Up to 40 characters; a counter beside the field shows how many you have used. The name must not already be taken. |
| **Organization page URL** | The address of your public organizer page: your PLVR address followed by `/organizers/` and an ID you choose. It fills in from your name until you edit it yourself. |
| **Organization logo** | Optional. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 5 MB. You can drag a file onto the logo area. You crop the image to a square before it is used. |

### Rules for the page URL

* 3 to 60 characters.
* Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only.
* Must start and end with a letter or number.
* Must not already be taken.
* Some IDs are reserved and cannot be used, including `login`, `logout`, `settings`, `organization`, `admin`, `official`, `support`, `help` and `plvr`. The form says "This ID is reserved, please choose another".

> [!WARNING]
>
> You cannot change the page URL after your organization is created. Check it before you select **Create organization**. You can change your organization's name and other details later.

At the bottom, **Owner** shows the email address you are signed in with. That account becomes the owner of the organization. If it is the wrong one, select **Change account**, sign in with the right one, and you come straight back to this form.

Select **Create organization**. You see "\<name> created" and arrive in your new workspace.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If you start filling in the form and then try to leave, the portal asks you to confirm so you do not lose your entries.

## Complete your organization profile

Your profile is what attendees see on your public organizer page. Open **Organization** in the header and fill in what you can:

* Your **logo** (if you skipped it) and **organization name**.
* **About My Organization**, a short description in your own words.
* Optional extras: a featured event, website and social links, a WhatsApp or Telegram group, music profiles, venue information, an accent color, and whether to show attendee numbers.

Select **Save** when you are done. Every field is explained in [Organization settings](/organization/settings).

## Add your team

Open **Team** in the header, select **Add**, and enter each person's name, email and role. You choose from:

| Role | Access |
| - | - |
| **Admin** | Full access to PLVR Business and PLVR Scan. |
| **Manager** | PLVR Business and PLVR Scan, except Team Management. |
| **Scanner** | PLVR Scan only (ticket scanning). |

You, as the owner, always keep full access. Choose the lowest role that lets each person do their job: door staff only need **Scanner**. You can change a role or remove someone at any time. See [Team and roles](/organization/team).

## Create your first event

Creating an event is not self-service yet. When your organization has no events, the **Events** page shows "No events yet" with the message "To create an event, contact [partners@plvr.io](mailto:partners@plvr.io)". Select the address to copy it, then email the partners team to get your event set up.

Once PLVR has created your event, it appears on your **Events** page and you can start working on it. See [Events overview](/events/overview).

> [!NOTE]
>
> The portal does not ask you to connect a payment account or complete a verification step during onboarding. If anything about getting paid or approval to sell applies to your organization, the partners team will tell you when you contact them.

## Before you go live

When your event appears in your list, work through this checklist:

**1. Build the event page**

Open the event, go to **Event Editor**, review the public page, and select **Save Event**. Nothing is published until you do. See [Event editor](/events/event-editor).

**2. Set up tickets**

Check your ticket types and prices under **Tickets**. See [Ticket management](/tickets/ticket-management).

**3. Add checkout questions (optional)**

Ask attendees for extra details with the [Registration form](/events/registration-form).

**4. Choose the event status**

On the **Events** page, use the status menu on the event's row to choose **Public**, **Private** or **Inactive**. See [Event status](/events/overview#event-status).

**5. Preview as an attendee**

Select **View event** to open the public page and check it the way attendees will see it.

**6. Invite your door team**

Add anyone who will scan tickets as a **Scanner** on the [Team page](/organization/team).

## Common problems

> **I see Access denied**
>
> The page says **Access denied** with a **Back to home** link. Your role in this organization does not allow that page, or you are signed in to a different organization. Select **Back to home**, check the organization shown in the account menu, and switch if needed. If you are in the right organization, ask an owner or admin to review your role. See [Team and roles](/organization/team).

> **I can't find my organization or I'm asked to create a new one**
>
> You are probably signed in with a different account than the one your team used, for example a different email address, or Apple or Google instead of email. Log out from the account menu and sign in with the account your organization was set up under. When you create a new organization, **Owner** shows which account you are using, and **Change account** lets you switch.

> **Someone added me to a team but I don't see their organization**
>
> Sign in using the same email address they added. Then open the account menu: every organization you belong to is listed with your role, and you can select it to switch.

> **"This organization name is already taken"**
>
> Names must be unique. Add a word that makes yours distinct, such as your city or "Events", and try again.

> **"This ID is already taken" or "This ID is reserved"**
>
> Choose a different page URL. Add a hyphen and a word, for example your city. Reserved words such as `admin`, `support` and `help` cannot be used.

> **The ID or logo is rejected**
>
> The ID must be 3 to 60 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or number. For logos, you see "Invalid file type. Only JPG, PNG and WEBP are allowed." or "File is too large. Maximum size is 5MB." if the image does not fit the rules.

> **My verification code did not arrive**
>
> Check your spam folder, wait for the 60-second countdown, then select **Resend**. Make sure the address shown under **Enter your verification code** is spelled correctly; if not, select the back arrow and re-enter it.

> **Apple or Google sign-in failed**
>
> You may see "Sign in failed, please try again". Try again, or continue with your email address instead.

> **I can't change my page URL**
>
> The page URL is fixed when the organization is created. If you need a different one, create a new organization from the account menu.
