# Complimentary Tickets

> Issue free tickets to guests one at a time or in bulk, email them to recipients, and download them later.

Use **Complimentary Tickets** (also called comp tickets) to give free tickets to guests, sponsors, press, or staff. Comp tickets count against your ticket inventory like any other ticket.

## Summary and list

Two cards at the top show **Total Recipients** and **Total Tickets** issued so far.

Below them, the table lists every comp ticket you have issued. Search by name or email with **Search by name or email**. Select a column heading to sort by it.

| Column | Description |
| - | - |
| **Name** | The recipient's name. |
| **Session** | The session the ticket is for. |
| **Ticket Type** | The ticket type issued. |
| **Quantity** | How many tickets were issued. |
| **Sent Date** | When the tickets were issued. |
| **Remarks** | Your internal notes. |

Use the download icon (**Download tickets**) at the end of a row to download that recipient's tickets as PDFs. While tickets are still being prepared, the row shows **Generating...** instead. Check back in a moment.

## Create comp tickets

Select **Create Complimentary Tickets** to open the panel. It has two tabs: **Single Creation** and **Bulk Creation**.

### Single Creation

**1. Choose whether to email the ticket**

Turn on **Email ticket to recipient** if you want the tickets sent by email. This switch is turned off automatically, and cannot be used, when the quantity is above 10.

**2. Enter the recipient**

Fill in **Name** and **Email**. Both are required, and the email must be valid.

**3. Pick the ticket**

Choose a **Session** (only asked when the event has several sessions), then a **Ticket Type**. Ticket types that are sold out appear greyed out and cannot be selected.

**4. Set the quantity and remarks**

Enter **Quantity**, a positive whole number up to 50, and never more than what remains for that ticket type. **Remarks** is optional, up to 200 characters, and is for your own reference.

**5. Save**

Select **Save**. A confirmation shows how many tickets were generated.

### Bulk Creation

Bulk creation issues the same ticket type to many recipients at once, up to **50 recipients** per submission.

**1. Choose delivery and ticket type**

Optionally turn on **Email tickets to recipients**. Select the **Session** (if asked) and **Ticket Type**. All recipients receive the same ticket type.

**2. Add recipients**

Add rows in the **Recipients** list manually, or import them from CSV (see below). Each row needs a **Name**, **Email**, and **Quantity**. A counter shows how many recipients you have out of 50.

**3. Check the quantities**

The quantity limit per recipient is shown in the column heading as **Qty (Max ...)**. It is 50, or 10 when emailing tickets, and it can be lower if fewer tickets remain. The page shows **Total Tickets** and **Remaining**. If the total exceeds what remains, a warning asks you to adjust the quantities.

**4. Add remarks and save**

**Remarks** applies to all tickets in the batch (up to 200 characters). Select **Save** to create them.

### Import recipients from CSV

You can upload a CSV file with **Upload CSV**, or paste rows into the box and select **Parse & Preview**. Select **Download Template** to get a starting file.

The file needs three columns in this order: Name, Email, Quantity.

```csv theme={null}
Name,Email,Quantity
John Doe,john@example.com,1
Jane Smith,jane@example.com,2
```

* A header row is optional. If the first row contains "name", "email", and "quantity", it is skipped.
* When pasting, use one recipient per line in the form `Name,Email,Quantity`, with no header.
* Each row must have exactly three values separated by commas, so names cannot contain commas.
* Name cannot be empty, email must be valid, and quantity must be a positive whole number.
* Imported rows count toward the 50 recipient limit, along with rows you have already added.
* If a row is invalid, the import stops and tells you which line to fix.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Imported recipients are added to the Recipients list first, so you can review and edit them before saving.

> [!TIP]
>
> Not sure whether to email or download? Emailing sends tickets directly to guests. If you leave it off, you can still download each recipient's tickets from the table afterward.
