Goal: Give free entry to people who should not pay, while keeping count of your capacity.

What to expect

  • Comp tickets are real tickets of a chosen Ticket Type in a chosen Session.
  • They come out of the same inventory as paid tickets. If General Admission has 300 tickets and you comp 20, 280 remain for sale.
  • Ticket types that are sold out appear greyed out in the comp form, so you cannot comp them.
Comps count against the ticket you choose. Decide before you sell out whether to reserve inventory for guests, or create a dedicated ticket type for them (ask your PLVR representative if you need one) so paid sales are unaffected.

Example: 30 press and artist guests

1

Prepare your list

Collect each guest’s name, email, and how many tickets they need. Use a spreadsheet with columns Name, Email, Quantity.
2

Open Complimentary Tickets

Go to Complimentary Tickets and select Create Complimentary Tickets.
3

Choose Bulk Creation

Use Bulk Creation for up to 50 recipients in one go. Pick the Session and Ticket Type (everyone receives the same type).
4

Import or enter recipients

Paste or upload your CSV, then review the rows. Fix any line the portal flags.
5

Decide on email

Turn on Email tickets to recipients to send tickets directly, or leave it off and download each person’s tickets later. Emailing allows up to 10 tickets per recipient.
6

Add remarks and save

A remark such as “Press” or “Artist guest list” helps you find them later. Select Save.
For one or two guests, use Single Creation instead.

Different types of guests

If artists and press need different ticket types (for example VIP for artists, General Admission for press), run one bulk batch for each ticket type.

After sending

  • The comp table shows Total Recipients and Total Tickets, and each row’s Sent Date.
  • Use the download icon on a row to get a recipient’s tickets as PDFs.
  • Comp tickets show up in your event’s ticket counts, so remember to include them when you plan capacity.
