The big picture
Sessions
A session is one occasion that people can attend, such as Friday night, Saturday afternoon, or a single show date. Every ticket belongs to exactly one session. If your event has only one session, you will not see session filters or session columns anywhere in the portal. They appear automatically when you have more than one. Why it matters:- Capacity, prices, and sale dates are set per ticket within a session.
- Ticket Management, the Ticket Report, and Complimentary Tickets all let you look at one session at a time.
- A ticket for Friday cannot be used on Saturday. For a multi-day event, see Multi-day festival.
Ticket types
A ticket type is one kind of ticket you sell, for example “Early Bird”, “General Admission”, or “VIP”. Each one has its own:- Price
- Total Quantity (how many you will sell)
- Sales Start Date and Sales End Date
- Status: Active or Inactive
- Optional purchase limits: Limit Qty per Order (1 to 10) and Limit Qty per User (1 to 20)
Status: Active, Inactive, Ended
- Active: on sale and visible to buyers (once its sales start date arrives).
- Inactive: hidden from buyers. Use it to hold back a ticket you are not ready to sell, or to pause one.
- Ended: set automatically after the sales end time. It cannot be reactivated by changing the status.
A ticket is only purchasable when it is Active and the current time is between its sales start and end. An Active ticket with a future start date shows how many days remain until sales begin.
Capacity
Total Quantity is the number of tickets you will sell of that type. You can raise it at any time. You cannot set it lower than what has already sold. Each ticket type has its own capacity, so your overall capacity for a session is the sum of its ticket types.Release chains
A release chain puts several ticket types in a fixed order, such as Early Bird, then General Admission, then Final Release. The portal puts the next tier on sale for you when the current one is nearly sold out. You do not need to be online to flip the switch. See Release chains for the controls, and Selling General Admission in tiers for a full walkthrough.Bundles
A bundle is a ticket sold as a pack, for example a “Group of 4” that includes four General Admission tickets. In the portal a bundle appears in the same table as your tickets, with the tickets it includes listed in its edit panel (for example, General Admission x 4). Bundles draw from the inventory of the ticket they include, so selling a Group of 4 uses up four of the included tickets’ availability. The Max Bundle Sales field lets you cap how many packs you sell. See Group packages with bundles.Add-ons
Add-ons are extras that buyers purchase alongside a ticket, such as parking, merchandise, or a drink voucher. Each add-on is linked to the ticket types it can be bought with, and either has its own quantity or shares the quantity of a ticket type. They are managed on the Add-ons tab. See Selling VIP and add-ons.Sale windows
Each ticket has a Sales Start Date and Sales End Date with an hour and minute. Use them to schedule when a ticket appears and disappears. Tiers like Early Bird usually get an end date well before the event.Purchase limits
- Limit Qty per Order caps how many of that ticket one checkout can include (up to 10).
- Limit Qty per User caps how many one person can buy in total (up to 20).
Price, fees, and what you receive
The Price you set is the ticket price. Buyers may see additional service fees and VAT on top, depending on your event’s fee setup, and some of that may be absorbed by you. Select How Fees Work next to the price in the edit panel to see exactly what the buyer pays and what you receive, before you save.Promo codes
A promo code gives a percentage or fixed-amount discount. It can apply to all ticket types, or to one specific ticket or bundle in one session. Codes can have a usage limit and a time limit.Complimentary (comp) tickets
Comp tickets are free tickets you issue to named people such as artists, press, sponsors, or staff. They come out of the same inventory as paid tickets, so they reduce what remains for sale. See Comping guests, artists, and press.Where to go next
